Amy Poehler and Joel Lovell: A New Chapter in Podcasting and ⁢Romance

Amy ‌Poehler, the beloved comedian who has‍ seamlessly transitioned into podcasting, is reportedly in a relationship with Joel Lovell, a former editor at The New York Times⁢ who has also ventured into the podcasting realm. This exciting development was shared by a source with People magazine.

Lovell,⁢ having left his role at The Times, has taken ‌on the position of executive‍ editor at Pineapple Street Studios, where he’s been instrumental ⁣in producing critically acclaimed‍ podcasts such as Missing Richard Simmons and Wind of Change. The romance between Lovell and‍ the Saturday Night Live alum began over the summer, according to the publication.‌

On her end, Poehler, now 53 years old, ⁣has also dived ‌into the world of podcasts. Last year, she starred as a ⁢marriage therapist‍ in the scripted comedy podcast Say More with ⁤Dr. Sheila. This project was a collaboration ‌with Audacy,⁣ a broadcasting firm based in Philadelphia, which happens ⁣to own Pineapple Street Studios. Poehler’s podcast resonated with audiences, climbing to the top of the Apple ⁣Podcasts comedy chart and earning a spot on The ⁤New York Times’ list of the best podcasts for 2023.

In a strategic move, Poehler’s production company,‍ Paper Kite, broadened its partnership with Audacy in March to produce additional comedy‍ podcasts. One notable creation from this alliance is ⁣ Million Dollar Advice,‌ overseen by Lovell’s Pineapple Street team.
