Who Else Needs to Work It Out on a Remix?

Lorde and Charli XCX confronted each other via song like some kind of alt-pop musical-theater number, and it ate. “The girl, so confusing version with lorde,” like all the best pop music, features multiple moments that burrow into your brain and refuse to leave, giving you no other choice but to simply relisten to the track. These include the way Lorde says, “You walk like a bitch,” the way Lorde says, “I ride for you, Charli,” and the way Charli says, “I ride for you too.” But perhaps most importantly, the line “Let’s work it out on a remix.”

“Let’s work it out on a remix” can be applied to many situations. It’s a public truce under the guise of a joint slay. A bride is making unreasonable demands of her wedding party and the maid of honor might quit? They should work it out on a remix (establish a budget). Can’t agree on whether or not to allow an IHOP to open on a potentially historical grave site? They should work it out on a remix (bring in a mediator). Below, a list of everyone that should make up now that the Lorde has shown them the way:

– Kendrick Lamar and Aubrey “Drake” Graham
– Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi
– Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo
– Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher
– Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker
– Tom and Jerry
– Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian
– Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss
- Godzilla and Kong
– Taylor Swift and Maggie Gyllenhaal
– Madonna and Lady Gaga
– Mario and Bowser
– Renata Adler and Pauline Kael
– Governor Kathy Hochul and the residents of New York State
– Florence Pugh and Olivia Wilde
– Man and God
– Man and nature
– Man and the unknown
– Andy Cohen and Bethenny Frankel
