If you’re an animal in the bedroom, hopefully, it’s not a dragon. The Game of Thrones world is almost synonymous with sex, and House of the Dragon is no different— except a very spicy moment did hit the chopping block, according to Olivia Cooke. She tells Elle that a “carnal” and “animalistic” sex scene was cut from the show. She explains, “It was messy as fuck. It wasn’t beautiful, and that was really fun to do… I think Ryan [Condal, the showrunner] said we weren’t learning any more about the characters, which I disagree with slightly, but it’s okay. It’s his show.” It would’ve been a change of pace for Cooke since she had a sense of relief when most of Alicent Hightower’s intimate moments were for story telling purposes. “I thought there’d be way more, and so I’m relieved that when it has been used for me, it’s showing Alicent being pleasured, which is amazing and doesn’t feel gratuitous,” Cooke shared. Maybe it’ll inspire freakier sex scenes for Alicent in season three.
