BABY POWDER SETTLEMENT: Attorney General Letitia James and a group of 42 other attorneys general reached a $700 million settlement with Johnson & Johnson yesterday to resolve claims that the company falsely marketed baby powder and other body products that had harmful levels of talcum powder, a substance that has been linked to cancer. HOUSING CONTRACT: The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene awarded a $3.6 million contract to Midtown nonprofit developer PCMH to run congregate supportive housing, according to a notice published in the City Record on Tuesday. PCMH, which aims to reduce homelessness in New York City, owns 16 apartment buildings and operates clinical services including therapy and recovery services. The organization also operates three Assertive Community Treatment teams, which provide intensive care to people with severe mental illnesses.

HEALTH EQUITY: The United Hospital Foundation is set to launch the application for its health equity fellowship today, an 18-month program to train doctors and nurses on health disparities and solutions in partnership with community organizations. The program plans to enroll 12 early- to mid-career clinicians and will offer in-person and virtual education sessions and mentorship. Applications for the program are due on July 30.
