Help, I Can’t Stop Obsessing Over Bella Hadid at Cannes

I’ve had a big, big Girl Crush on Bella Hadid since I first spotted her as an angsty teen on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — and it seems the world has one, too. I even went as far as to curate a Tumblr blog dedicated to her outfits, which at the time consisted of cropped sweatshirts and denim diaper short-shorts. Since then, she can do no wrong in my eyes. Her impact is even more apparent now that she’s back at the Cannes Film Festival.

The retired supermodel turned beauty-brand founder has been a regular at the coveted film festival since at least 2015. She not only attends but consistently turns out look after look. In 2016, she attended the premiere of The Unknown Girl at the 69th Cannes wearing a sultry red dress with a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit, showcasing a bare leg and hip. In 2021, the internet went into a frenzy when Hadid appeared in Schiaparelli, featuring a golden lung breastplate.

This year, for the premiere of The Apprentice at the 77th Cannes, Bella wore a liquidlike Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello dress made of semi-sheer brown rushing silk. I think I retweeted it five times and bookmarked it six. Today, she was wearing a glossy, pale-gray Dsquared2 fall 2006 look and Chopard jewelry at the Chopard Gala. Later today, leaving Hotel Martinez, Hadid wore a golden body-hugging Gucci midi-dress with a swept-back updo. Swoon.

Like any supermodel stan stemming from the early 2000s, my favorite moments, of course, are when Hadid is seen off duty but never not werking. In a white button-down shirt (tied at the bust), she took a well-earned drag of a cigarette. Don’t worry — I screenshotted that too.
