The Chicago Cubs look to bounce back on Saturday afternoon at Wrigley Field after allowing three late runs in a 3-1 defeat to the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday.
The Brewers captured the first game of the weekend set by driving in all three runs in the eighth inning to improve to 13-4 away from American Family Field.
Chicago has dropped five of its past seven games while scoring two runs or fewer in three of the last four contests.
The Cubs try to turn things around with right-hander Jameson Taillon on the mound. Taillon has been consistent in three starts, allowing one earned run each time out, while the Cubs are 3-0 in those games.
Last season, Chicago lost each of Taillon’s two starts against Milwaukee, both coming at home.
The Brewers counter with Tobias Myers, who is making his third start of the season. Myers pitched well for four innings against the Yankees in his last outing, allowing one run, but he yielded four runs in the fifth inning of a 15-5 loss.
The Cubs have slumped to a 1-5 record in their last six matinee games, while the Brewers are 12-3 during the day, including an 8-1 mark on the road.
Milwaukee is also 3-0 this season in Game 2s of a road series after winning the opener.
Let’s back the Brewers as a road underdog to beat the Cubs for a second straight day.
