Vanity Fair France Très Désolé for Editing Out Guy Pearce’s Palestinian Flag Pin

Le oops! Vanity Fair France has apologized for releasing an edited picture of Guy Pearce at Cannes. The actor was there promoting his film The Shrouds, and was photographed wearing a Palestinian flag. VF FR then posted a pic of Pearce, sans flag. (Whoever photoshopped out the flag pin missed Pearce’s bracelet, also in the colors of Palestine.) “Good evening,” a translated version of the mag’s tweet read. “We have mistakenly published a modified version of this photo on the site. The original version was posted on Instagram the same day. We have rectified our mistake and we apologize.” But if you want to look to true sartorial solidarity, Bella Hadid’s keffiyeh dress is where the heat’s at. Hadid wore the dress, vintage Michael and Hushi, while getting ice cream on the Croisette. “While I still have to go to work , even through this horror, to wear our culture makes me a proud Palestinian & I want the world to continue to see Palestine, wherever we go,” she wrote on Instagram.
