Hilary Duff welcomed her fourth child last Friday, a daughter named Townes Meadow Bair. On Tuesday, the actress announced the news on Instagram. Duff shared photos of her at-home water birth, along with pictures of her newborn and her husband, singer Matthew Koma.

“I have been dreaming of holding you in my arms for months and the past 5 days of getting to know you, stare at you and smell you has been pure moments of magic,” Duff wrote on Instagram. “We all love you like you’ve been here all along beauty.”
In his own post, Koma praised Duff but threw in a little joke. “My literal warrior goddess of a wife gave birth to our beautiful Townes Meadow Bair at home on 5/3/24,” he wrote. “She’s happy, healthy, chunky and looks like nobody in our genetic pool so if anyone knows of @hilaryduff’s whereabouts roughly 9 months ago to date, please reach out for a cash reward.”
This is the couple’s third child together. Duff also has a son with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie. And if you’re wondering what “Townes” means, according to babynames.com, it’s an English name meaning “from the settlement.” A better guess may be that she’s named after the country singer Townes Van Zandt. Either way, congratulations are in order for the Duff-Koma family!
