Brooklyn family found stabbed and killed inside apartment, 1 in custody

A horrific tragedy struck a New York City family, ⁣leaving them devastated and in mourning. Four of their loved⁣ ones, including two young children,⁢ were found dead in their Brooklyn apartment. Police have taken a 24-year-old man into ⁢custody for allegedly stabbing and killing two women and two‌ young children, who were ⁢identified as Mavlyuda ⁢Fayzieva, 56; Maftuna Khakimova, 27; Kamila Shavkatova, 5, and ⁣Timur Shavkatov,‍ 4.

The authorities arrived at the apartment on the corner of Avenue P⁤ and ⁢West⁢ Eighth Street in Bensonhurst after receiving a 911 call‍ reporting a domestic assault. The victims, Fayzieva and ‍Khakimova, were a mother-in-law and‌ daughter-in-law, respectively. Tragically,​ the children’s father, a relative of the suspect, discovered the devastating ‍scene.​ The family member emphasized the heartache and loss, stating that the suspect took everything from the father –‍ his wife, children, and mother.

Neighbors were deeply​ affected by the ⁢tragic event, with one ⁤describing the heartbreaking sobs that echoed outside their window as the family’s loved ones grappled with the loss. Another neighbor recounted the son’s anguish⁣ when he discovered⁣ his mother’s ⁢lifeless body. The close-knit Uzbek community ​recalls the family’s kindness and ⁣generosity, especially the grandmother’s support and assistance to those who were new arrivals in the⁤ neighborhood.

The local authorities ‍have been actively investigating the ‌incident, ⁣interviewing neighbors and ‍collecting evidence at the crime scene.‌ A memorial with flowers and candles has ​been ​established outside ​the apartment ‍building, serving ‌as a somber symbol of remembrance and mourning.

The community ⁤is left reeling from ⁤this⁣ senseless act of violence, grappling with the profound ‍loss of lives, and seeking comfort and closure during this ‍difficult time.
