It’s another big week for pop girls and their fans everywhere but especially us in New York. Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Carly Rae Jepsen all took the stage for the 2024 Governors Ball Music Festival, each showing off their unique style to match their stage presence. Other performers from the weekend included Rauw Alejandro, SZA, Reneé Rapp, 21 Savage, G Flip, Post Malone, and many more (though only the chosen few had outfits good enough to match their set). Below, are the best dressed from the weekend and beyond.
Best Dressed: Sabrina Carpenter
After a busy week, Carpenter capitalized on her “Please Please Please”music video (featuring boyfriend Barry Keoghan) with a cute performance at Gov Ball and an even cuter outfit: a butter-yellow minidress with a heart cutout over her chest from designer Frolov. How fitting!
Best-Dressed Runner-Up: Rauw Alejandro
The Puerto Rican rapper (and ex-fiancé of Rosalía) looked dapper performing on Friday in a yellow-and-orange striped suit and thick gold chain.
Best Method Dressing: Chappell Roan
The singer is known for her bold outfits, which often play with drag, so fans were eager to see what she would wear for her New York show. Fittingly, it was the Statue of Liberty. She entered the stage via the big apple (though made that version an apple bong for a nice added touch). She’s making pop campier and campier every day.
Best Hair: Carly Rae Jepsen
Every time I see a photo of Jepsen, I can’t help but think about how great her platinum-blonde hair looks. She really is embracing pop stardom!
Most On Theme: G Flip
Singer G Flip nailed the perfect festival look: a cowboy hat, some sleek sunnies, a casual yet put together look featuring jorts, and two summer-inspired necklaces.
Best Off-Duty: Anok Yai
Supermodel Anok Yai can make anything look like it belongs on the runway, flowers included. She was spotted out buying some in a Gimaguas top and belt, Danielle Guizio skirt, Roger Vivier shoes, and Jolana bag, in case anyone wants to try to re-create.
Best Je Ne Sais Quoi:Kaitlyn Dever
Maybe it’s the color of the dress, but Dever looks stunning at the Michael Kors Collection Dinner in Los Angeles in this floor-length slip made by the designer.
Best Styling: Raul Lopez
It should come as no surprise the Luar creative director, Raul Lopez, can pull off a bold look, but just in case you need further proof, here’s the designer in an extremely structured suit at hairstylist Jawara’s 40th birthday party at Silencio.
Best Linkup: Diane von Furstenberg and Tory Burch
Speaking of iconic designers, here are two spotted together and looking fabulous at the Iguatemi Exclusive Dinner in New York.
