It’s truly the year of the press tour. But it really wouldn’t be complete without House of the Dragon’s Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke’s insane chemistry, now would it? The actors behind the two queens of Westeros, Rhaenyra (D’Arcy) and Alicent (Cooke), return to our tiny screens to, sure, promote season two of the HBO series, but really to make us feel dizzy over them just sitting across from each other. And while there isn’t quite an earthshaking negroni sbagliato moment yet, this measly three-minute video of D’Arcy and Cooke is a warm-up that’s literally already driving parts of Twitter crazy. I don’t even want to look at AO3 yet.
In the video, D’Arcy and Cooke are watching the telly to recount three key scenes between the two in House of the Dragon likeRhaenyra’s “messy and visceral” birthing scene. Cooke says it seemed hard to shoot, to which D’Arcy quips they “like it when it’s sort of messy, though.” Even Cooke is taken aback: “Next one?” The next one isn’t any less flirty. With the chances of Rhaenyra and Alicent reuniting in season two of HOTD slim, we need this press tour more than ever.
