Less than two weeks after Tom Brady’s ex-wife and ex-girlfriend both became collateral damage in his Netflix roast, the former quarterback seems to have made an attempt at burying the hatchet with none other than a Mother’s Day Instagram post. “Happy Mothers Day to these kind, caring, compassionate and POWERFUL moms that I’m lucky to have in my life. None of this would be possible without your love ❤️❤️❤️,” Brady captioned the post, which featured photos of his mother, Gisele Bündchen, Bridget Moynahan, and their kids. At the time of publication, neither of the women had commented on the post returning the love.

Backing up for a moment, earlier this month, both Bündchen and Moynahan became the targets of several misdirected jokes during the live broadcast of Brady’s roast. Comedians made fun of Brady for dumping Moynahan while she was pregnant with their son, Jack, who is now 16 years old, while celebrities and former teammates poked at his divorce from Bündchen, taking every opportunity to mention that she was now rumored to be dating her jujitsu instructor. Though neither woman has publicly commented on the roast, a source told People last week that Gisele was “deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening’s roast show.” Moynahan, meanwhile, has been posting cryptic quotes to Instagram like, “Loyal people take shit more personal because they never would’ve did [sic] that shit to you.” Either way, neither woman seemed to find the jokes about their family life funny at all.
While Brady likely didn’t write the jokes himself, he still put his family in the line of fire. But according to his Instagram followers, merely posting about his exes on Mother’s Day — the bare minimum, in my opinion — is enough cause for celebration, let alone a clean slate. “Tom, you’re setting a great example to your children by showing respect to their Mother, when you didn’t have to!! Great QB, great human!!!!” one commenter wrote, while another said, “???? yeah you’re a better man than me.” Let the record show that one perfunctory Instagram post does not necessarily a good man make! Let’s hope he shared a few private apologies with the mothers of his children, too — at least!
