This past weekend, Formula 1 took over Miami with the Grand Prix, and all the celebrities flocked to the warmth to watch the race. While the sport is the reason for the weekend, the Met Gala is on my mind, so we need to talk about all the looks from the numerous events that took place, including an American Express presents Carbone Beach event and a Raising Cane’s pop-up. Aside from food and Formula 1, it was a big weekend for matching sets.
Best Overall Look: Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton wore a custom Marni look while arriving at the track in Miami, and while the colors scream “Florida!,” the layers scream “Hot!!” The look is good, though, and I love the puffy shoes.
Best Set: Travis Kelce (and Steve Stoute)
A rare appearance without Taylor Swift for Travis Kelce, but this feels like the right place for the NFL player. He showed off his fashion chops in a matching distressed-denim set at American Express Presents Carbone Beach. Let’s just hope he kept the tomato sauce away from his white top.
Best Shorts: Keke Palmer and Odell Beckham Jr.
It was a tie! These two look perfectly cool, comfortable, and weather appropriate in the pit lane prior to the F1 Grand Prix of Miami. Everyone, take notes! This is how you dress to watch outdoor sports!
Best Nighttime Look: Danny Ramirez
Danny Ramirez added a bit of bling to his button-down and flared trousers for the perfect evening look at the WhatsApp & Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Empire State Building viewing party.
Best Elevated Casual: Chelcie May
Palm Angels, the Italian luxury-streetwear brand, commemorated the second year of partnership with the MoneyGram Haas F1 team by hosting a private cocktail party and dressing guests to the nines. Chelcie May wore a boxer set from the brand, elevating the everyday look with sleek white heels. I will be re-creating this look shortly.
Best Dress: Cynthia Erivo
Cynthia Erivo has been wearing very elaborate gowns recently, and while I love a moment, I’m partial to what this simple black-and-silver dress does on her. She looks fabulous at the WhatsApp & Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Empire State Building viewing party.
